What is it with women and shoes?

I have three distinct types of shoes that I buy:

  1. Everyday shoes. I have one pair of Merrell hiking shoes and a pair of sport sandals. I can walk infinitely in either and wear them 80% of the time. I typically spend 100-150 dollars on each and they last approximately three years.
  2. ‘Fun’ shoes. Trendy things. Knee high boots. ‘Cute’ sandals. I try not to pay more than 25 dollars for these and usually buy 4 pairs a year (2 in fall and 2 in spring). For when I know I am not going to be on my feet all day but I want to look a little nicer than usual.
  3. Dress shoes. I have one pair of all-purpose black heels that I pad next to nothing for about 10 years ago but they are sooo comfy. If I need something that isn’t black heels, I will purchase something a size or width up from my regular size and, again, try to keep the price down to under 30 dollars since they will likely be one-time use (think wedding or the like).

I love shoes. I have cute, tiny feet and they look great in everything. Nothing like a new pair of shoes to make a girl feel good.

I just spent over $100 on a pair of sneakers that are the most comfortable pair of shoes (sneakers or otherwise) I’ve ever owned. The $100 was with a coupon plus a discount

The only other time I’ve ever dropped more money on footwear was for my Dansko clogs I wore in culinary school. They’re still good, but there’s no way I can wear them now. Stupid wonky foot/leg/knee issues :stuck_out_tongue:

Shoes have never meant much to me. I’ve got little wide feet. I can’t wear flats because of my Achilles issues, can’t wear heels because of my ankle issues, and although I know the more expensive the shoe the better constructed, I simply don’t have the money to drop on X number of perfectly-fitting pairs. I’ve already learned my lesson with cheap shoes, so now I’m resigned to wear the ones I now have until they fall apart :frowning:
