What is that on my new bumper???

I was in an accident 2 weeks ago and I just picked my SUV up at the body shop yesterday. I got a new front bumper and all looked well at a glance.

But when I got home, I noticed a faint white splotch on it. I tried to wipe it off using good ol’spit and rubbing…but it remained.

My friend’s opinion is that it is some type of polishing compound that should never touch plastic. He recently got his new truck out of shop and has a similar problem. He has tried everything he can think of to remove his white-ish stain to no avail. (He said his body shop he thinks put Armor All on it as a temporary fix)

I do not think it is acceptable for me to pay for this (not me actually, but I am to deliver the check that the other car owner’s insurance sent me, today )? This is supposed to be THE top of the line body shop in my area.

I am very non-confrontational and kinda wanted yall’s opinions. Am I wrong to expect my bumper to look like it did pre-accident? Is it unreasonable for me to demand this to be corrected?

Have them fix it - no question. If they give you a hassle, call the other party’s insurance company and tell them the place did an unsatisfactory job.

Thanks midget.

I have never had to deal with this before, but I am SO anal about my car.

I cant take this stain becoming a permanent fixture.

I am going by the shop in a couple of hours, and I dread it. They are very nice, but I know they act like I am just a silly girl who know nothing.

They cleaned it off with some thing, so all is well again!
