I had this problem for probably a decade. Really. My working room just smelled bad. Stenched. But it was not recognizable stench. Just some exotic natural degrading smell crossed with something terribly artificial. With a pinch of uncleaned Mediterranean street, voodoo craftery and east Asian backstreet restaurant half cleaned wok. Sometimes intense. Head aching.
Others smelled it too. “What smell?” I asked. “You know, that smell,” they answered. It was not my imagination.
But again. It was not always present. Half time, or less, perhaps. Rarely intense, always subtle.
Here we go. That is the smell of stale mint tea. Yup. Smell of the room where hundreds of used mint tea bags ends in a bin behind the desk (I smelled the source, just couldn’t connect the dots). Just make mint tea (without adds) and let it stale for a day. That stench.
Any chemists with answers ? Anyone with similar experience?
