When I worked in Switzerland, I lived next door to the then Prime Minister in an ordinary house in an ordinary street. The odd thing was, they listed professions in the Swiss White Pages. So he was listed as Herr Whateverhisnamewas, Prime Minister, along with his address and phone number.
The address of the office of the German Chancellor is
Willy-Brandt-Strasse 1
10557 Berlin
The building is not designed as a residence for the Chancellor, but for offices and ceremonial occasions, so the Chancellor frequently spends his/her spare time in his/her private home. Just in case, however, there is (IIRC) a relatively modest flat for the leader in the complex.
The German Federal President resides at
Bellevue Palace
Spreeweg 1
10557 Berlin
Well, if we’re including office addresses…
Office of the Prime Minister of Canada
80 Wellington Street
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
K1A 0A2
His office address:
Room No. 152
South Block,
New Delhi
110 001
India

Makes him sound like a filing cabinet ![]()

The Dutch Prime Minister has a house in The Hague put at his disposal, the Catshuis, which is here. I’m not sure about the exact address, but I guess it’s on the Johan de Wittlaan.
Not to be culturally insensitive, but the name of the building makes it sound like the Dutch PM has his very own official brothel.
New Zealand’s Prime Minister has the official address of:
Premier House
Tinakori Road
Wellington.
Interesting trivia: between 1935 and 1975 it was a children’s dental clinic and became known to generations of Wellington children as “The Murder House”.

Misspellings and grammatical errors are one of my endearing qualities.

Sorry, that thread title is more grating than endearing. Should be “Country’s” I don’t have many spelling pet peeves but using “Countries” When you mean “Country’s” is one of them.
One refers to more than one country.
The other refers to something that belongs to a country.
Edit: No disrespect meant to the OP. I know having your errors pointed out can be a little deflating. I apologise for that.

It’s quite a lovely looking old house. When I was in Wellington I lived for a short time just up the road from it.
So are you looking for the official residence or the secret underground bunker address? They all have them you know.
Now that you have all this information, SSG Schwartz…just what do you plan on doing with it, hmm?

Well, in Canada’s case, there’s the Diefenbunker:
3911 Carp Road
Carp, Ontario, Canada
K0A 1L0
It’s now a museum.

Maybe it was, but the Murder House *I *went to in Wellington was at the top of Cuba street and eternally painted industrial green with bad cartoons on the windows. Even though me and my class-mates were in the gentle care of the trainee dental technicians between 1970 -78, we never went to Premier House.
Must have just been the posh kids from the western suburbs.
Looking it up on the map (No.160, by the way) we used to get rather drunk in town and stagger up Murphy Road and past the Prime Minister’s pad on our way to the botanic gardens to look at the glowworms. We were usually singing something … impolite.
Good times. Hope we didn’t wake you up Cuncator.

The Prime Minister of Australia can be reached by mail at:
Parliament House,
Canberra
A.C.T. 2600
Australia

Correct addressing (Australian addresses capitalise the suburb/town [and country if req.] and have the state abbreviation and postcode on the same line) is:
The Hon Kevin Rudd MP
Prime Minister
Parliament House
CANBERRA ACT 2600
AUSTRALIA
- I’m a postal nerd (sorry)
Psst, Martini and others from o’er the Ditch - is it really true that - in the early days of his Prime Ministership at least - David Lange’s home phone number was in the phone book?

I’m not from Auckland (were Lange was originally from) or Wellington (where the Capital is), but I’ve heard the same story from people in NZ and have no reason to doubt that it’s true (it was, and to an extent still is, that sort of country).
I’ll ask my Dad tomorrow- he used to be a Journalist in NZ at the time, so he’s more likely to know whether or not Lange’s phone number was actually in the Phone Book like everyone else’s…
