Anyway, it just occurs to me that, oddly enough, neither the Premier of Quebec nor the Lieutenant-Governor have an official residence (the Lt. Gov. used to but it burned down in the 60s, killing the then Lt. Gov), but the Governor General has a second official residence in Quebec City (the Citadelle of Quebec , or more precisely a suite of apartments therein).
I heard the same thing, I believe it was his Auckland home. He was a community lawyer before going into politics, it may have been a hangover from that.
Sir Edmund Hilary also had his number in the book. After his death, his widow started getting her first ever “unpleasant” calls and went ex-directory.

She was living in Brookfield at the house she lived in before she became governor, about a half-hour or more drive from Hartford, but she recently said she would take up residence in the official house to reduce the amount of gas she was using, since she drives a state-owned car and the taxpayers pay for her fuel.
