What is the best place to host a relatively simple website?

I have.

At this point I am not looking for a large Social Media platform. I am just looking for friends to talk to.

I am trying to built a small support group – perhaps a few people to talk about the problems we face as individuals.

Thank you. I do not intend to build a large site – just a small platform with a gateway to virtual conferencing.

The problem will be people finding your site. That’s what I meant by the needle in a field of needlestacks comment earlier. Creating the blog is the easy part. Getting traffic to your blog out of millions and millions of others is the sticky wicket.

OUCH! I would rather have a few good audio conferencing friends then millions of stalkers.

I have many problems related to Autism and Loneliness.

I don’t think Darren Garrison is trying to discourage you, but they do raise a good point: Have you thought about how the folks you’d like to talk to will find your new blog? It is quite difficult for a new website to gain traction because there’s no way for it to be organically discovered by your audience, unless you go through the effort of deliberately sharing it somehow.

Do you already have a core group of friends who you can send to your new website, so they can help spread the word among others? Or?

For all its flaws, reddit is still an option for finding small communities of like-minded individuals. If anything, it’s a bit too good at that and can be a bit of an echo chamber if you don’t diversify… but that’s the internet for ya. If you’re just trying to find people to send to your new blog, though, and start regular video chats, it might be one place to start? Or are there existing autism communities (forums, chat rooms, whatever) you can announce the opening on, when you’re ready?
