Talk shows? (Insert “Sideshow Bob after he steps on a rake” grumble here) Most talk shows exist only to take up the space that could be better utilized by game shows. (I say this because, except for the brief period when it aired in the afternoon, The Price is Right hardly ever aired in San Francisco between 1975 and 1991 because the CBS station there was running either a local talk show or the “Group W Talk Show of the Moment” in its place.)
Didn’t Johnny Carson once say that to get on The Tonight Show, you had to have either something to plug or four good stories?
