What is the English status of S Asian?

Now being a S Asian, I know the status of English in S Asia very well!

The question being;
Although I am not a native speaker per se (if you look at it English is my fourth language, being Pakistani, my education has been in the language and all my professional and business dealings have been in english. So what would I be described as with respect to English? Not native Not near native either, I was taught the language at home and at school pretty much at the same time as other languages.

What would be the description for people like me and others in S Asia? The one that I have heard is “second native”.

I don’t know, but I just wanna chime in that I was struggling with this exact same question earlier today. I gave up without finding a good solution, but that post went through a flurry of edits while I tried.

I’ll take a stab at this with “second-language speaker”. (Even if it wasn’t chronologically the second language you learned.)

I don’t think that English can be described as a second language for me, since in most of my day to day dealings for my entire life, it is the langauge I have used, as opposed to a language I am very proficient in.
