What is the farthest you'd drive for a weekend trip?

I think it’s FFX county VA to Niagra Falls… Either that or FFX to Orlando FL. I’ve done both for weekend trips (ie one “day” at the place). Fri- Sunday evening.

Six hours is about the limit for a regular weekend trip. Eight hours for a long weekend. One of our favourite spots is Radium Hot Springs, which is three hours from Calgary - we’d do such a short trip like that without blinking an eye. Our longest car trip to date was Calgary to Chicago and back in about ten days - 2568 km or 25 hours each way.

(As an aside, I find it odd that you guys all give distances in miles - I always think of distances in hours, as in, Edmonton is three hours away from Calgary, Saskatoon is six hours away, etc. I’m finding myself trying to convert miles into hours so I can understand what you’re talking about.)

Well, Cat Whisperer, When my wife drives it is about 4.5 hours from here to Denver. When I drive, the same route is 6 hours (I have yet to get a speeding ticket). So which time do I tell you? The miles stays the same.

For the OPer, I would say that my limit these days is about 550 miles for a Friday night to sunday night trip. For three days, make that 850 mile.

I used to regularly go from Portland Ore. to S.F. Ca. on a two day weekend. About 680 miles, or 10 hour each way!

However, for Baseball, the sky is the limit!! Literally, since I am a licenced pilot, I would probably fly there and back.
