MAS*H’s “Suicide is Painless”
Secret Agent Man…
Secret Agent Man…
… convicted for a crime they didn’t commit …
Now, I don’t wanna start another thread here, but…
Kvallulf, I have but one thing to say. The Colonial Warriors actually managed to shoot the Cylons on a regular basis. The A-Team never managed to hit anybody - even with hand gernades.
And Murdock is much better off in his current Starfleet career.
And now, back to the REAL topic - the Dick Van Dyke show had one of the most annoyingly catchy theme songs EVER. Just seeing a picture of him gets that song stuck in my head.

Oooh, good choice.
That would have to be my favorite too.
Great choice, I grew up listening to that song. It has been permanently etched into my head.
Hawaii Five-O. Slam dunk #1.
Runners-Up (no particular order):
Route 66. Ultimate cool.
Peter Gunn. Power attitude. Love that piano rhythm line.
Rawhide.
Twelve O’Clock High.
Twilight Zone.
The Virginian.
Peter Gunn
Battlestar: Galactica
The Animated X-Men.
Powerpuff Girls
X-Men: the Animated Series
Mystery Science Theater 3000
No doubt in my mind!
also -
All in the Family (I’m originally from New York, what do you expect?)
Welcome Back Kotter (ditto and spent many an interesting day at New Utrecht High, the school shown while the theme is playing)
In the Heat of the Night (I love Carroll O’Connor)
Its nice to see that I’m not the only one who likes the song from the Powerpuff Girls, but do y’all mean the opening theme or the ending theme? By the way, love the sig Ladybug.
I just though of three more:
Inspector Gadget
Fraggle Rock
The Muppets
Of the Three Fraggle Rock is the best.
My goodness - I can’t believe I forgot this one:
Walker, Texas Ranger (Chuck Norris does it himself)
Fraggle Rock - I remember that one too… Can’t remember the network and I don’t think it’s on any longer - if it is I’d appreciate knowing where. I have a 2 year old who I think would enjoy it!
I think Fraggle Rock was on HBO. I don’t think it is in syndication anywhere, which is a shame because I loved this show!
another greatest theme song:
Homicide - I know it wasn’t an actual song, but the opening music of this show was haunting and beautiful
Oh, I’m the Unknown Stunt Man,
Who makes Eastwood look so fine…"
A lot of my favourites - MASH, Powerpuff Girls (closing), Fraggle Rock, Speed Racer - have been mentioned.
Just to throw a loop in, 2 Japanese series, one of which got NA TV play, the other didn’t.
Gundam Wing’s theme, Just Communication, and Neon Genesis Evangelion’s Cruel Angel’s Thesis.
Hill Street Blues
Red Dwarf
Indubitably! Funky bass, soulful harp and Redd Foxx. What more could you want?
Funny thing, that theme: it’s a ripoff of a ballet by Délibes. I heard it on the radio a few months ago, and that “bum-bada-baaa, bum-bada-baa, bum-bada-bum-bum-baaaaaa” sounded SO familiar. It took me three hours to figure out where I had heard it, and four to stop laughing once I did!
The Benny Hill theme song is the best. I got it off Napster and play it a lot in the car.
My picks:
The 1960’s Fantastic Four
Spaaace Ghooost!
The Thunderbirds March
Stingray
I like them both, but at the time I was referring to the end theme. Anyone know where I can find a download for either of them?
It was a tie between that one and “There shall be no giggling in the lair of Mojo!”
