I believe that success is a combination of elements. One element that you left out is “luck”. Also, success is highly dependent on the area in which it is achieved. Very different skills contribute to success in athletics, as opposed to technical fields. Nothing guarantees or “gives” success. I can’t remember the name of the great Jazz saxaphone player who died recently who didn’t become commercially successful until he was in his 50’s. Finally, we all have a role in defining for ourselves what we consider success, and if we set unreasonable standards, we can guarantee failure.
So is there one ingredient that gives success?? or is it a combination of all the above mentioned and more??
The correct answer is none of the above. The surest way to success is to have rich parents. Your above ingredients are “teasers” that corporations use to make the workers produce more gadgets and better services.

Problem: Competition
Solution: Relax, consume less, try to be happy.
Disclaimer: There is always the exception, with the odds being about the same as hitting the lotery. This would present another problem, you would have to find new friends.

Hmmm, I like to think I am moderately successful. I can’t take European vacations every 3 weeks or anything, but I make enough to support a family, own a nice house, have a couple nice cars, and not live paycheck to paycheck.
How did I do it? First, I worked hard (honestly) and had a plan. Since about 10th grade, I knew what I wanted to do “when I grew up” and the choices I made all were designed to help me achieve that. Second, I listened to my own head instead of the naysayers (ok, my mother) who thought they knew what was best for me (in other words, most people want you to play it safe and not take risks). Through a combination of those two, I’ve achieved quite a few of my goals - and as one is tackled, I set another one to keep me motivated.
This is sort of a silly question, since any particular type of success requires different things, but it seems to me that hard work is the only real key to success you’ve listed. Absent the application of effort, all the imagination in the world will not help you. Teamwork’s not necessary for all types of success, skills and learning can be gained through hard work, and happiness doesn’t matter at all to “success,” although it sure makes it easier to enjoy.
I would say the key to success is a noble parent. Also, if you have older siblings, it would probably be best to kill them or if yoy are really devious to make them fall from grace in the eye of your parent.
seriously, though, what do you mean with success? It would seem to mean different things to differnt people.
by success…i dont know…i guess success is being happy and loving what you do…but also being good at it and having enough money to not have to worry about not having enough money.
And Reeder??? DADDY??? The idea had occured to me…but while talking to him, the outcome was that he would pay for my way through school, and then some of university. But once i started earning money i was on my own.
