I’ve read the whole of “A Dance to the Music of Time” by Anthony Powell. The 12 volumes (and about 3000 pages) are often seen as a single work.
I’ll cop to this as well.
I’m sorry.
So very, very sorry…
Little House on the Prairie (9 volumes)
The Oz books - but not all of them. I may have to get
Well, I’m counting the Vlad Taltos books and the Khaavren books as parts of the great series of Dragaeran Novels, as does the publisher, by the way they’re listed in the front of Jhegaala. In fact, they and I include Brokedown Palace, so it’s a series of seventeen right now.
Discworld of course.
But the winner is…
All Biggles books by Johns (over 90).
Take a guess.
I have. I’ve also read all of Rex Stout’s non-Wolfe mysteries (that I know of), and some of his non-mystery fiction.
That’s the longest series I’ve read all of. The longest series I’ve read any of is probably the BBC’s Doctor Who novels (the Past Doctor Adventures). I don’t expect to read all of them.
Part of me is surprised that only one other person (winterhawk) has said “Harry Potter”, but then again knowing the doper crowd, part of me isn’t as well.
Mine was going to be Harry…but then I remembered the book series that got me through middle/grade/and a small part of high school:
The Animorphs series. I have all of the books of the series, plus all of the “Megamorphs” and all four “Chronicles” (Andalite,Vissier, Hork Bajir, Ellemist) I think all in all it encompasses a good 30-35 books…and I loved every one of em
All of the David Weber books, except the Bahzell series. They vary from 3 to 19 or 20. Depends on exactly what could be considered part of the Honor Harrington series, with the 4 anthologies and 2 side series going on.
Somewhere between 30 and 40 Perry Mason books, which means I am less than halfway through them, but I never seem to find any new (to me) ones around.
I don’t know how many Nero Wolfe novels I have read, but I do know I have a few to go.
All 18 of the Dragaeran novels, and waiting for more.
Most of the 87th Precinct and Hercule Poirot books.
The hard part about counting many of them is I read so many when I was younger, broker, and getting the books from various libraries. I didn’t keep lists of exactly what and how many of different things I was reading, I just kept looking for new ones.
Piers Anthony’s Xanth series; I read up to about book eighteen when I was a teenager (and then couldn’t take it any more).
Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series is also very long, if you consider page count instead of the number of books.
The Harry Potter series.
The Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes. I think there were eight books in this series.
Chronicles of Narnia.
The Little House series, if it counts as fiction.
