What is the most accurate statement made by one person in the 20th century?

There must be billions of statements made in the 20th century that were entirely correct, and all of them are therefore tied for 1st place.

After all, “2 + 2 = 4” and “Ottawa is the capital of Canada” are both equally accurate statements, They’re not particularly INTERESTING statements, but that’s not what you asked for.

Nice.

LBJ, during a visit to Vietnam, to the young Marine who told him his helicopter was ready: “They’re all my helicopters, son.”

Another 19th-century statement from Otto von Bismarck:

When asked about the greatest political fact of modern times, Bismarck is reported to have said that it was “the inherited and permanent fact that North America speaks English.”

Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future.

Yep.

But maybe what the OP really wanted was just a “share cool quotes” thread?

“Culture is what your butcher would have if he were a surgeon.”

Too bad you didn’t post this 15 years ago. Someone could have posted it today!
