Hmm… I have to go with the time the phone rang while my roommate and I were goofing off on the Xbox. I said fuck it and didn’t bother answering.
When I got around to checking voicemail the next morning, turns out the call was from Kelly. The girl I’d been trying to get together with for a couple months. Who had said, earlier that day, that she might call if she wanted some ‘company’ that night.
In my defense, she’d said that before and not called, but still. Dammit! :smack:
In the pre-DNC list days I was getting half a dozen telemarketer calls a day. None of these came through on the caller ID and I figured if it was anyone legitimate they’d leave a message. At least one of these daily unidentified calls, as it turned out, was coming from a prospective employer (and I was unemployed at the time), as I found out when they finally decided to leave a message. By the time I called them back I found out that the position had been filled. :smack:
I got a call back for an interview for what was basically my absolute never-in-a-million-years dream job about a day into a two-week vacation. Of course they had filled the position by the time I got the message.
