Honestly, did you know there are kids today who don’t think that they are the greatest and most influential band that ever walked the earth? How you can top that for being underrated?

STP enjoyed HUUUUUUUUUGE fame and success in the early and mid nineties. I think it was around '96 or '97 when their third album Tiny Music…Songs from Vatican City (or something along those lines) came out and everyone began to realize that grunge was dead and Weiland was too deep in a drug induced coma to realize it.
Their second album, to me, is a classic. But they’re done now. Not underrated, just done.
The Beatles being underrated is of course a joke.
My vote for the most underrated band ever: Sublime.
Good point, Cisco, but I believe STP continues to make good, underappreciated music.
I liked Weiland solo, and I liked Talk Show (Everyone in STP minus Weiland), but, really, I could not STAND STP.

I don’t think Atari Teenage Riot got nearly enough credit for making punk scary again.
Fountains of Wayne and Imperial Teen are both woefully underrated power-pop bands.
Mr. Bungle and Tom Waits are both great, but, unfortunately, it seems that the only people listening are other people in bands.

none of the bands you can think of are underrated, they’re all overrated. all the udnerrated bands are the ones you never heard ( and i did ).
