What is the name for eating philosophies where you avoid staples

By staples I mean corn, wheat, barley, potatoes, soybeans, rice, etc.

I know the paleo diet eschews staples, but is there an actual philosophy devoted to this concept or is it just the paleo diet?

If someone tells me they eat a low-carb diet, I picture them avoiding all the things in the OP’s post.
