What is the name of this picture? Who painted it?

Can anybody here tell me the name of this painting, http://www.amazon.com/Please-Table-Anya-von-Bremzen/dp/0894807536 and who created it? Somebody told me it was Maxim Gorky, but, I couldn’t find it under the image section of Google for his works, so, I’m at a loss.
It is, of course, the one at the top of the page which is used in the Cookbook “Please to the Table.”

It looks like Marc Chagall to me.
