Dutch botany. We have 1400 species of native plants. I know about 250 of them well enough to recognize them even if they’re dried out, mown over, or bitten off.
Many of them I can even recognize blindfolded (by touch).
So, that’s 250 I know instantly, and I can determine the rest with the aid of a flora-book.
Walking around and describing the vegetation used to be my job.

Yaoi manga, a genre of Japanes comics drawn for women by women about male love affairs. Sometimes graphic, often times not, they’re distinctly different from comics for gay men. I have a collection of 300-400 in Japanese, signed copies, and a direct link to an artist.
I know a lot about rowing as well (which is usually more useful on this board) but there may be only 10-15 people who have my collection and breadth of knowldge about yaoi manga.
Why women do that.
I probably know more about treating asthma and hepatitis C than most people would want to know. Probably Diabetes Mellitus too. And funny looking genitals. KarlGauss might be able to give me a run for my money on DM tho. I don’t know how much of it he treats any more. I don’t know where his expertise is vis a vis funny looking genitals.
Also Tolkien stuff, addiction medicine, and building seawalls.
being a father of 5 kids under the age 0f 11, a teacher for 6 years and a Jr High sponser, my area is children.
Mine would have to be gymnastics, specifically Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
I also know a lot about the Olympics, but not enough! 
Linguistics. I make up realistic languages as a hobby (it’s called conlanging), so I learned quite a bit about linguistics. I’m also real good at pronouncing
I also know a fair ammount about all Adult Swim cartoons, console emulation, SNES RPGs, anything Tolkien related, messing around with Windows, and my own ignorance, but I don’t pretend to be an expert on any of them.

Nothing - I seem to have concentrated on breadth at the expense of depth.
Modern children’s toys. I am an expert in my field, which is toys. 
If it’s useless info, odds are I’ll be something of an expert on it.
Greco-Roman wrestling. I’m a certified referee, and regularly get evaluations 1-2 grades higher than my actual license grade, but I can’t make the commitment to travel to North farking Dakota every year to get and maintain my M1. I’m very knowledgable about the rules of the sport and the techniques of wrestling generally, although that doesn’t mean dick as I can’t seem to implement it.
I am most knowledgeable about communicating with others. I have an extremely broad and shallow knowledge base combined with a very large vocabulary. So I can find some common ground between us. Or I can clarify/restate issues until we’re at least confident we’re talking about the same things whether or not we agree on them.
I have had many conversations with professionals in different fields who end up surprised to learn I have no training in their fields. All I usually know about is just the existance of one or two issues in their field, enough to ask a quasi-inteeligent question about it. And if I can come up with one reasonable follow-up question based on the implicatioms of their first comments, half of them think I’'ve taken couses on it.
However, somewhere on the path between the boardroom and the bedroom 
, this skill breaks down completely, which makes it a lot less fun. Jeez, I ain’t been laid in WAY too long. I’m coming to the conclusion that too much clarity is possible and in this area not necessarily the preferred course.

So how’d that big US Greco Roman wrestler, Rulon Gardner, keep winning? He looked like a big tub of goo compared to the muscleboys he wrestled against. Also, how was he able to keep his stamina and others (esp younger ones) did not, even though they looked to be in better shape than him. Is he a physical freak?
Isn’t he a farmer? Farmers tend to have a lot of strength and endurance, it kinda goes with the job.
