As the title states I am trying to find the origin of the phrase " Paranoia runs deep" It may be a famous quote, a song lyric, or perhaps the title of an essay. Im just hoping one of the many intelligent posters on this board know the phrase of which I speak and know where it came from. Thank you in advance for an information you can gather for me.
This is purely from a very vague memory but I think it is from a Paul Simon song on the One Trick Pony album and the line is
“Paranoia runs deep in the heartland”
silkie =:^)
Paranoia strikes deep/Into your life it will creep
Buffalo Springfield, “For What it’s Worth”
The first I ever heard the phrase was in Buffalo Springfield’s song For What It’s Worth , mentioned above. It predated Paul Simon’s album by a good bit.
