What is the song "Wildfire" about?

They left out…why did the lights go out if the guy was hung and not electrocuted?

I’ll give her that one. I always considered it was metaphoric. “The lights” that went out were justice, not a reaction to ol’ sparky in action.

I thought it was because all these Georgia hicks were so caught up in sleeping with, and killing, each other that they forgot to pay their electric bills.

It’s hanged, dammit, hanged.

It’s hanged, hangit, hanged…

Little sister don’t you do what your big sister done :frowning:

Hey little sister, what have you done?
Sorry, old song overload in brain.

Or not.

And they was right.

*Hey you
You’re a wild honey child
I’m out of control
Every time you are near me
I’m a wolf child, baby
And I’m howlin’ for you
My heart beats faster, hrrrr
Hey hey, and it’s overpowered, wow

I’m a wolf child, girl
Howlin’ for you
Wild flower
Star of my dreams
The most beautiful thing, yeah
*
What??

Hey little sister what have you done?
Hey little sister he’s not the only one
Hey little sister where’d my wife go?
Hey little sister who’s the one you shot?
Hey little sister shot gun!

It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day for a killing spree
It’s a nice day to kill them all!

Hey little sister what have you done
Hey little sister there isn’t only one
I’ve looked away for so long (so long)
I’ve been blind for so long (so long)
I let it go for so long

It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day for a killing spree
It’s a nice day to kill them all!

There is nothin’ safe in this world
I have no wife in this world
And there’s no Andy Wo’ in this world
And there’s no Seth Amos in this world
Look for something left in this world
Start again

Oh my god I love this song. I was obsessed with it for a long, long time. It’s so very, very bad that it wraps back around to good.

At this point, you need to specify which very bad song to which you refer.

My sister was a about 7 when Wildfire came out. She had one of those spring-mounted pony rocking horses which she named Wildfire. She would be riding it while singing/yelling, “Wiiiiiiiildfiiiiire!”

Was kind of a family memory thing for a long time. But I’ve enjoyed all the songs in this thread. I just let the artist have their license and enjoy the performance.

I though Wildfire was about the wrestler Tommy Rich. A horse makes a lot more sense, Rich really sucked at wrestling.

I’m starting to think the song is about herpes, 'cause it just won’t ever go away!

Wildfire is super cheesy, it’s off the charts on the cheese-o-meter. One album I frequently recommend in this vein (that is, Music to Torture People By) is

  1. Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree - Dawn
  2. The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace
  3. Billy, Don’t Be A Hero - Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods
  4. (You’re) Having My Baby - Paul Anka
  5. Playground In My Mind - Clint Holmes
  6. Feelings - Morris Albert
  7. Sometimes When We Touch - Dan Hill
  8. The Candy Man - Sammy Davis, Jr.
  9. Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band
  10. Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary MacGregor
  11. Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes
  12. Muskrat Love - Captain & Tennille

Storyline of this song: “I’ve been in prison for three years, and my girlfriend hasn’t visited or answered my letters. But, what the hell, I’ll use the last of my cash to take a bus to her town anyway. Maybe giving me the silent treatment for three years was just a joke!”

Well, she didn’t know the address of the Hanoi Hilton.
