What is this medical (?) device?

While at the pool today, I saw a woman with a little gadget clipped to her swimsuit.
It was about the shape of a beeper, but slightly larger, with an LCD screen, a couple of “up” and “down” arrow buttons and another round button. It had a very thin clear flexible tube that came out of it and into her suit.
She got in the kiddy pool with it, and didn’t seem too concerned with keeping it dry, although she did not get it submerged.

So what was it? (just idle curiosity)

Insulin pump?
External pacemaker of some kind?

Sure sounds like it. Look here

** Karl**, ya nailed it. I’d only add this. Pacemakers and defibrillators are subcutaneous. That is, they’re implanted with no external workings. They’re usually now placed a bit away from the heart itself, over towards the right upper chest area above the nipple, but below the collarbone.

It’s devices like this that make medical research sparkle. Amazing, simply amazing…

Cartooniverse

Yep, that’s pretty much what it looked like. Might have been a different brand. Thanks.

Yes, Cartooniverse, I for one am amazed. Medical technology is pretty cool.
