And yes, it’s a joyful song, except for Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend. He goes to the opera as a distraction from drinking and almost loses it during the drinking scene:
Give the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco a try. It was played after Verdi’s death as his coffin was carried through the city. It’s practically Italy’s national anthem.
