I saw this on eBay, and the seller claimed:

What “huge creature” is this person talking about? What, if anything, is endangering the small-time sellers?

According to some posters to the meassageboard of OTWA (Online Traders Web Alliance), the monster is eBay itself.

Check out this thread,Outsider Ebay Artists Unite!, which appears to have generated a number of protest auctions similar to the one you cited.
