Okay, so I’m writing a poem right now, and it goes like this:
I took four lines, rhyming abab, from another poet, and I wrote my own four stanzas. Each stanza has seven lines, rhyming abababa. The last line of the first stanza is the first line of the four lines I chose from the other poet. The last line of the second stanza is the second line of those same four lines, and so on.
Capisce? Buono! So what’s this poetic form called?
It’s not a quatrain or a villanelle or a sestina or a sonnet, and it’s really, really bugging me. What is it?
