We live out in th country now. I cannot get a high speed connection here. We are settling for AOhell for the time being. (I know, I know, worse possible choice).
The question I have is, every time I minimise aol to go to another browser such as explorer or try to go to other sites, OAL will wait a second or two then automatically minimise whatever I am searching for and pop right back to the AOL welcome screen. It’s like some kind of override. As if AOL controlls my machine.
Anything I can do to correct this?
By the way I use aol for an ISP only and use explorer for browsing. Pretty sure I don’t have AOL as the default browser.
Thanks
I don’t know. I too use AOL as an ISP but Explorer for browsing, but I don’t have the problem you describe.
Does this keep occuring for as long as you’re logged on, or is it just at the beginning of the session? Could it just be Windows switching focus from one window to another because something just “happened” in that other window?
Don’t know Thudlow. I am NOT that computer literate.
I will add that I am using windows XP if that matters.
Sometimes the thing will just up and sign on (to AOL) by itself. I wake up and look at the machine and there is AOL just staring at me…
It DOES seem to be sporadic. Just got me baffled. Maybe some of Scylla’s nazi groundhogs™ are sneaking into south texas?
I have AOL dial-up but this has never happened when I use IE.
