I think his ultimate legacy will be for infecting the American public with the Palin family, for the SOLE reason that John McCain thought that by offering Sarah Palin the VP running mate position, he COULD HOPEFULLY FUCK SARAH PALIN.
I am completely serious, and I am not alone in this thinking. I fully believe that McCain, a chronic serial-adulterer, knew that he didn’t have a prayer to actually take the 2008 election and so offered the VP slot to Palin simply as a way to try and get her into the sack.
He didn’t realize that unlike him, Palin actually believes some of the Christian claptrap that she spouts, whereas McCain only uses religion as a taking point when it suits his political purposes. (Fucking hypocrite)

Well, three of them said now (Vice Chairman of the Chief of Staff, Navy Chief of Staff, and Coast Guard Chief of Staff), two said “Not now, but probably by 2012 when we’re out of Iraq and Afghanistan” (Army CoS and Air Force CoS), and one said, “Maybe some time in the future, unspecified” (Marine Commandant), so I don’t know that that your way is the best way to summarize their attitude, except maybe the Marine Commandant. They also all agreed that if they were told to do it, they could make it work, and that McCain’s idea of “Let the enlisted soldiers, sailors, and marines decide when it should happen” was a bad idea.
I am getting bored with Repubs like McCain voicing the stance of Fox, even though he announced he was for eliminating DADT, before. Are they scared? Are they gutless? He made it clear he understood about the bigotry and unfairness a few years ago. That was founded in principle. Now he walks around with a finger in the air testing the Tea Bagger wind . A United States Senator, if he is so inclined, can get waaaay better than a 46-year-old mother of 5. This city is awash with ambitious 24 year old women looking to advance their careers. Sarah Palin is quite hot on the “mid-life mom” scale; she’s nothing special on the “females available to a congressman” scale.
Not to mention that Todd Palin doesn’t seem the sort of guy willing to be cuckolded so his wife can get power.

OK, I fully admit that McCain (a man who at one point I very much respected, if for nothing else than his Vietnam ordeal) may have thought that Sarah Palin would add a political demographic that his campaign needed (mainly women voters) but obviously McCain KNEW that the election was in the bag for Obama. John McCain may be a horny old fool, but he can certainly read the political writing on the wall and he knew full well that this country was not about to elect another Republican after 8 years of GWB.
So while I was indeed a bit over the top in my original post, I FULLY believe that McCain’s decision to offer Palin the VP slot was overwhelmingly due to the physical attraction he had towards her, and I am sure he was shocked after he got to really know her (you recall that he had only spent a few hours with her in person in total before he offered her the VP) about what a vapid, shallow, intellectual light-weight she was, and worst of all (to Mccain’s way of thinking) she wouldn’t even give him a go at her wrinkled, stretched-out stinlslit after he forever tarnished his political reputation by being held historically responsible for infecting the American public with the cerebral venereal disease that is the Sarah Palin family.
He could have offered Fred Thompson the VP slot and had a shot at Jeri Thompson.
