What is wit Brain?

Reza often comes to the boards for help in understanding why a particular English construct is right or wrong, or why it’s used on a particular way as she is actively learning English. I don’t think she’s ever tried to get anyone to do her homework, just some help in understanding English peculiarities, of which there are legion.

Understood. I still wonder where she got the term from, though.

Me, too. Never heard of either phrase.

Maybe she heard ‘wet brain’ pronounced by a Kiwi. :stuck_out_tongue:

That would be wit brine

What’s wit Brain? He’s a genetically altered lab mouse that wants to take over the world.

NARF!

Thanks for your time and comments.
Reza is a he. Reza is too old to have homework assignment. Reza is an English tutor and translator in his own country, he comes here regularly to talk over English questions with others, since nearly all the people here are a native to English language.
The guy who asked me the question said that these words were given to him from their university teacher. I looked up through 10 dictionaries and also on internet and I couldn’t find any answer. Then I came here to make sure that we have no such word / expression.

Oh, almost forgot, Reza is truly grateful to all of YOU! :slight_smile:

Reza=he. Got it! :slight_smile:

Some of the threads you’ve started have become my favorites- I find dissecting the language I instinctively speak fascinating. Some posters here are excellent at clear explanations.

What is your friend studying at the university? What does his teacher teach? Knowing that may help us find an answer.

Actually, not a friend but a client. lol

I charged them reasonably to do their assignment. It was a list of 10 words.
The words were asked to be defined and explained in two lines for each word with some examples, and also their translation into Farsi. (including typing, took me almost two hours to finish and email them).

He said that he was studying Insurance Management. Presumably their teacher (Not English teacher but a teacher of their other subjects) was angry at their bad English, so he gave them lots of English activities and assignment.

I think this applies even more to doing someone else’s homework for pay. I note that a large majority of your threads are questions about word usage in English. I presume that these may also be related to such assignments. This is in violation of the Registration Agreement. Do not post such questions again.
