BTW, I have to say I’m enjoying the trash talk coming from the President lately. Reminds me of what I hear when I’m 10 points up on the court.
Meaningless gibberish.
We’ll hold you to this.
The public was told that we needed to cover the uninsured. That has not been the primary effect of the law.
Nonsense. The percentage of uninsured is going down. Your insistence on finding different ways to declare failure on a bill that is just beginning to show results is getting old.
Matched only by your insistence on finding different ways to declare it a success. Sure, the percentage of uninsured is going down. And a lot of people had to lose their insurance to make it happen.
Guess which group votes more?
If that is applied to conservative trash talk about Obamacare, the game has been in the refrigerator for years.
Wrong again. I’m simply saying that it’s far too early to tell.
This is not supported by statistics.
Real people who got insurance, or (mostly) fantasy-world people who lost theirs? I’m going to go with the real people.
You can be assured that those people who supposedly don’t exist will be reminded that democrats insist they don’t exist. Perhaps you’ve missed the news stories on how Republicans are specifically targeting people who lost their insurance to get them to the polls.
Which of course isn’t a problem if you actually believe they don’t exist.
A small number probably do. But so far, nearly every individual or family the Republicans have trotted out for the cameras have turned out to be mistaken or lying.
That’s not true, but I guess if you take Harry Reid’s word for everything…
But again, those of you who have been hurt by ACA? Not only do the Democrats not give a shit about you, they deny you even exist. In November, show them you exist.
Please do. I want to make the law better. I understand that it’s very possible that some people are being harmed by it (though I believe this number is quite small), and I want to help those people too.
iiandyiiii – working to make America better.
Why don’t they show us now? Hmmm…

Further: This reminds me of the time they made such a fuss about repealing the inheritance tax (except they called it the “death tax”), on the grounds that so many families were being forced to sell their businesses or farms to pay it. Only problem was, they couldn’t find any.
raises hand
Prior to Obamacare I opted out of my employer provided insurance in order to work myself out of debt faster. In general I’m healthy and rarely use healthcare. When the occasion came about that I needed services I paid out of pocket. My expenses never came to more than I would have paid in premiums and deductibles. At the beginning of this year - the first year Obamacare went into effect premiums and deductible doubled. I thought it was too expensive before Obamacare.
I was going to opt in this year. But prices doubled. I would have to spend almost $6000 in premiums and deductibles before seeing any benefits. It was half that before.
Here’s a video of Obama flat-out lying that his stupid plan will decrease premiums by 3000%. Yes, three-thousand! percent. I can’t tell you how angry I feel when he says that. It is a betrayal.
Now I’m going to have to pay a fine for not having insurance. What a farce. The fact that there are still so many drooling sycophants for this liar and his treasonous lies is just beyond me.
Adaher, I’ve been following this thread for a long time now. I don’t know how you summon the patience.
That was pretty stupid, he should not have said that. That’s it, then, that and your personal anecdote, is your whole argument?
And while we’re about it, explain to me how anything he has said qualifies as “treasonous”.
Obvious slip of the tongue, immediately corrected to “three thousand dollars”. Don’t be ridiculous.
Agreed, a bad claim on Obama’s part but not as bad as it seems.
I remember this. He misspoke, the estimate he cited was actually $3000 and corrected. It had some basis in fact - but those estimates were made prior to the actual passage of the final bill.

Two questions about these unfortunate wretches: 1) Do they still not have insurance, or did they get a better plan on Obamacare that they are now happy with? 2) Did they vote Republican before? Because if they vote Republican again, it’s not going to move the needle.
