For anyone who’s used both healthcare.gov and usajobs.gov, which one is worse? I used usajobs when I was job hunting 5 years ago. It was complicated, but so is the federal hiring process. I’ll bet there are a couple of positions I’m still under consideration for, from 2009. As I have a job with health coverage I haven’t had to use the healthcare.gov site, so I can’t judge the relative suckitude.
A good discussion about how that one outlier was created for the purpose of giving a desired answer, by asking the question misleadingly and loadedly enough:
See how that works? As an expert on poll-skewing, you should have noticed that, right? Instead of choosing to believe it because it tells you what you want to hear, that is.
And one would normally wonder why a for-profit company is so happy to offer them, hmmm? I, for one, would be perfectly happy with an amendment that says, “Keep your shitty plan, but understand that no hospital or doctor is required to give you care above your plan limit. Ever. In fact, they are FORBIDDEN from including the cost of giving your stupid uninsured ass care in their cost model for people who have insurance. You die, you die and good riddance, you fucking leech.”
You good? Otherwise, just admit that you’re for private profit and public risk. Accept the tax increase and/or constantly rising health care costs and SHUT THE FUCK UP.
I agree. As long as those fucking assholes have to stop shifting their catastrophic care costs on to me.
Got it. Those who have insurance that doesn’t meet ACA standards are “fucking assholes”. Hope someone more influential than you says it, or the equivalent. Like someone on MSNBC.
Either there is some merit to the notion that those plans are substandard, or there is not. A question that you carefully avoid addressing.
For purposes of this discussion, I am not much concerned with whether or not they are assholes, I am more concerned with whether they are victims.
It doesn’t matter. what matters is what he promised, and the fact that he intends to let these plans be cancelled reinforces that he did indeed lie his ass off.
The President’s got a bigger choice to make though. The House, in bipartisan fashion, passed a fix that would allow expatriates to keep and continue to buy plans that don’t meet ACA standards.
I don’t think you realize how potent this issue is. He lied. And the fact that he threatens to veto bills that allow people to keep their health insurance demonstrates that the lie was quite intentional. Plus it makes him an active participant in taking away peoples’ health insurance when he uses the veto.
BWAHAHA.
No he didn’t.
You can *feel *it all closing in on you, can’t you, adaher? Tighter and tighter every day, slowly but inevitably, you’re powerless to stop it, your throat is shrinking so you can’t even scream …
Looks good on you, though.
If he didn’t lie then how come he’s supporting regulations that will cause people to lose their health insurance?
He can’t claim ignorance this time.
My foxonometer registers it at 0.45 Benghazis.
I hear Cartman doing his “Your Mom Is A Bitch” song but the lyrics are all “Obama lied”.
Hey, I should do that, post it on the intertubes, watch it go totally vinyl.
About six in ten American voters think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters some or most of the time, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday.
Thirty-seven percent think Obama lies “most of the time,” while another 24 percent say he lies “some of the time.” Twenty percent of voters say “only now and then” and 15 percent “never.”
Tip: when a well has a sign saying “Cyanide”, there’s a good chance that it’s poisoned. It the poll was taken of Fox News viewers, 65% of them would say he killed the Lindbergh baby and was on the grassy knoll shooting JFK while yelling “Allah akbar” in both cases.
Poor Rick Scott. His plan to get seniors to bash Obamacare backfired. 95% of his little group approved of the plan, and they questioned his bullshit claim that their Medicare was cut to pay for it.
If they have Medicare Advantage, it was cut. Although not as much as planned. Not because the law doesn’t cut Medicare Advantage, but because the administration hasn’t been brave enough to take the full heat that goes with actually cutting MA in accordance with the law they signed.
Good news for us. An e-mail from HR says we will pay no health care premiums ( medical and dental ) for May through July because “…provider costs were lower than anticipated.” They attribute the savings to healthy choices by employees ( I’m down to two G&T’s on the weekend
) and lower costs for the provider for 2013 and the first half of 2014 as a result of the ACA. They are vague on other details and the cynic in me thinks someone else got the shaft, but no matter. We get a nice $1600 bonus for the summer.

It’s not all roses, of course, but it is a big deal.
The PPACA isn’t going away, not with participation numbers like that.
But Republicans have moral courage, unlike the spineless Obama who “…hasn’t been brave enough to take the full heat…” and hopes to evade the political consequences of his failed policy. But not the Republican, nosir! Republican governors have the moral courage firmly rooted in their commitment to offer generosity and comfort to the deserving and stern austerity to the riff-raff.
The Republicans are not the least afraid of electoral consequences, they simply drip with moral courage, soaked in it, drenched, it flows down their trouser legs and puddles onto the floor where they stand. They don’t pander to the whims of political popularity, they are firm in their opinions regardless of any damage to their election prospects.
Their recent history only allows a limited number of interpretations! Either they are so incorruptibly firm and resolute that they stand by their principles regardless of the temptations of election and that they are the very avatars of moral and political courage.
Or, they are barking mad.
It almost reaches the point of homeopathy.
