If King v. Burwell succeeds in overturning Obamacare subsidies in states without exchanges, most of the 6 million people who will lose their insurance are right in the Republican demographic: white, Southern and employed.
Republicans look like they’ll have an alternative ready to insure that those people continue to get subsidies. It’s up to the President to decide whether his ideology is more important.
I’ll believe this cite-free assertion when I see an alternative voted on and approved by the House and Senate.
I’ll bet money they won’t.
Why not include a cite when you assert something?
Not that this says anything but a few Republicans have proposed an alternative. I don’t know if it will even come up for a vote, much less pass in the House and Senate.
Your cite says nothing about replacing subsidies.
ACA still has not been fully implemented. Old title is more accurate.
In this case, because even this latest set of one-page bullet points, put out right in time to convince the Supreme Court that it’s safe to gut ACA, actually does not support **adaher **at all, rather the contrary. Either he didn’t read it or he didn’t understand it.
It does *not *look like that.
And I look like the Queen of Romania. Because I am the Queen of Romania. Therefore it is possible that the Queen of Romania bears a striking resemblance to George Clooney.
Given that established baseline for comparison, it is only very, very unlikely that the Republicans “look like” they have a plan. Any more than that would be an exaggeration. Certainly, we cannot say it is impossible! That would be going too far.
Late here, but did it hurt for you to type such a ridiculous paragraph?
Got some facts and/or reasoning to offer us? No? Pity.
Charles Gaba has figures to back the 8-digit signup. At 31.4 million, we are well into tens of millions who owe their health coverage to provisions of the ACA
Roughly the entire population of Canada, whose greatest national hero is the man who made it happen. Too bad they still don’t know how much freedom it cost them, eh?
Astonishing! Who’d have thunk subsidizing premiums and deductibles and co-pays would have led people to sign up for health insurance. And all for just $80 billion this year. And to think we’re going to get all that back from down-the-road savings. Why, when we add in all the savings we’re going to be getting from all the Medicare cost-savings and fraud reduction programs they’ve told us about in the past we can probably get rid of the income tax. And the dramatic upswing to expected life-span we’re going to see. Gobsmacked I tell you.
Speak the truth! Every day, Canadians surge in calm rage and polite fury, demanding the right to sicken and die like the Great Beaver intended!
“What do we want! Sickness! When do we want it? Well, pretty soon if its OK with you and its not a lot of trouble, 'eh?”
Can I just say how Gawddamned sick I am of the conservative charge that the US somehow can’t afford to have a UHC system?
Bullshit.
The US, which routinely claims that it is the wealthiest nation on earth, writes a blank check to the military every. fucking. year. so it has more than enough $$$ to make sure that all of its citizens have access to health care.
So seriously, cut the crap.
We need the military budget to protect ourselves and our people from all those other terrible countries. Most of whom have socialized medicine, and would impose it on us. So, we need the money we would spend on socialized medicine to protect us from socialized medicine. Simple, really.
All citizens have access to health care. Illegal aliens do also.
So seriously, cut the crap.
