What is your preferred floor mop?

I bought mine over two years ago, along with spare mop heads and it is still a “joy” to use. When I get two dirty mop heads, I throw them in the wash.

I have a small house and use it in the two bathrooms and kitchen. The upper floor of my house has wood floors and I use it for them as well (I spin out most of the water for my wood floors).

BTW, it was a life saver for my old pup (RIP) who the last 6 months, couldn’t hold his water for more than an hour or two so we often got home to an accident. Luckily, he would go in a room downstairs that had old linoleum (since ripped up for remodeling).

Nothing beats a string mop to clean up a puddle of dog pee. Or mud tracked in from kids and dogs.

Swiffer is great for floors that aren’t very dirty. I use one regularly. Unless the floor is heavily soiled.

I got tired of being in the mop-of-the-month club and never being happy with any of them. Now I have these: handle, mophead, and bucket.

Awww, I’m sorry about your doggie. I still miss my Buddy. When he pooped all over the kitchen that time, I could tell he was absolutely mortified. A Good Boy.

That O Cedar one looks interesting. Our entire house is wood and vinyl - too much area for the Swiffers (IMO/E). We’ve tried sponge mops, but they always left the floor too wet, such that we had to go over them w/ a towel. To date, every Sunday finds me on my knees - not in church, but washing the floors on my hands and knees.

I used to walk around scooting towels with my feet to dry after mopping with sponge mops. No more. You can spin that mop quite dry leaving floors dry in a minute or two.

Well, if you’re going to go that route…

Anyone use a robot mop, like the roomba?

Looking for one that people like.

I had a roomba vacuum-- I didn’t know they had a mop, too. It came free and unsolicited one day from Amazon completely out of the blue. I have thread on that mystery a few years back.

I wound up giving it away. It would be good for a wide-open space like a dance studio. Or a Shaker house where they kept the chairs off the floor on hooks. It used to get hung up in the chair legs under the dining table.

Anything not made by Libman, manufacturers of low-quality synthetic plasticky crap.

You have a baby I could borrow?

interesting.

A while back we bought some supposed wonder mop from the Container Store - which has a no questions money back guarantee. Left the floors sopping wet. They tried to give us a hard time when we returned it, because it had been used. We pointed out that there was no other way to see if we were satisfied with it.

Anybody remember Beany and Cecil?

R, I say R-A
R-A-G
R-A-G-G, M-O-P-P
Rag Mop!

YES!

I have re-written that for my dog(s):

D, I say D–
D-O-G–
D-O-G-O–
D-O-G-G, M-O-P-P
Dogmop!

I never thought I’d EVER have an opening to share that one! One reason why I love The Dope.

But blondebear, do YOU remember
Magic words of poof-poof-piffles!
Make me just as small as Sniffles!

Said by Mary Ann so she could shrink down to the size of her mouse-pal Sniffles and embark on adventures together.

On topic: I’m loving the idea of the O-Cedar EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop. Trying to figure out where I can store it in my very small house.

No, Farm & Fleet doesn’t have a snack bar or lunch counter. Nor does Mill’s Fleet Farm. There’s a hot dog stand at the Home Depot nearest to me though. (No seating.)

Seems like a place called Farm & Fleet used to offer at least homemade fudge or something. I could give them my recipe for cashew fudge.

Our Home Depots don’t have hot dogs. Have to go to Costco for those.

(Now I want a hot dog. It’s a curse being so suggestible when it comes to food. Or a blessing. :p)

Can’t say that I do, but I do like your D-O-G-G version of Ragmop!

If you have doggies, sing it to them with while engaging in exaggerated shoulder and hip wriggles. My Sweetie seems to like it. Or maybe she’s laughing **at **me, not **with **me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Toddler, but it makes more mess than it will clean.

I’ll share with you what we use in our cleaning business in case it helps. For flat mopping we use the following handle and pads:

Pads

And if you’re looking for a more traditional mop we love this microfiber mop “string” mop head and the bucket works great for it. Just add your own handle. We have found these are our local Walmart locations but we first bought them on Amazon:
