Hey Mike! How are ya? Good to hear from a pro.
This bucket was mentioned upthread, and I have ordered it.
This is the mop I have and my cleaner likes it, but I also ordered the mop that **wguy123 **suggested in his post.

Hi ThelmaLou! I’m doing quite well. I’m no longer a professional cleaner though my wife is. Degenerative back issues forced me out of the business last summer. I tried everything to make it work and had really been running on fumes for a year trying to push through my issues but finally had to wave the white flag. I’ve since started a life coaching business after obtaining certification and I use my life experiences to help others find the life they want. I work with a lot of people that came from cult or high control backgrounds and help them to heal and make peace with their pasts while discovering their authentic selves and helping them to find what they want in life going forward. It has been a huge change but obviously I’m accustomed to massive life changes and making them work.
You’ll have to let us know how you like the spin mop. I’ve never tried that one before. Honestly it looks fun in a way, as much fun as you can make mopping anyway. Enjoy your new mop!
What a great career for you. You can really relate to the people you’re helping. Bravo! Best to Mrs. Mike. I’ll report on the spin thing. I do love my gadgets.
I’ve got a Bissell spinning thing that I rather like. No scrubbing.
I like the idea of autonomous iRobots for scrubbing floors, for reasons that should be obvious. Never tried that model, but did own the carpet-vacuuming one, which I found horrendously expensive but worth every penny in terms of not having to lift a finger while things get clean.
I have a robot mop, a Braava, the older model. It’s pretty much an automated Swiffer. I use it every few days to extend the time between getting the mop bucket out. Like Swiffer, it can do dry and “wet” mopping. The wet mopping, which is actually just damp, picks up the dust well. The floor dries almost immediately. I like that it goes under the bed and other larger furniture, places I never damp mop or Swiffer.
When I was reading the online reviews pre-purchase, a fair number complained it’ll spread spilled chocolate sauce or dog poop all over the floor. Seeing how it operates, I’d imagine they’re correct.
My regular mop is a Leifheit Picobello. The mop pad is thin sponge with a surface of cotton cloth. With the squeeze feature, it doesn’t leave a lot of water on the floor. The floors dry quickly. The mop pads last quite a while. I bought two extras at the original purchase and haven’t used them yet. I’m surprised it’s still for sale as I bought mine ten years ago.
I have a "Quickie Automatic Sponge Mop " since I’m lazy, and used to have two dogs. (It “automatically” squeezes out the water.) My mother hates it, and would only use a normal mop.
We have a sponge mop that we use to clean the kitchen floor, and a rag mop that we use to clean up floods… Yeah, from time to time something goes wrong, the hot water tank dies, or the washing machine, or once a toilet tank cracked in a tiny earthquake, and we need to remove a lot of water. Rag mops and a wringer work pretty well.
very good to entertain you in this time of quarantine 123movies
We have a sponge mop, and used it to clean the bathroom floors once, then I found a Swiffer WetJet online (they were scarce!) which I’m gonna break out this weekend. Gotta look into a) how to hack it so I can use homemade cleaning fluid, and b) getting reusable cleaning pads. This is only good for the bathrooms, as we have hardwood elsewhere.
For that, we have some hardwood cleaner and a dry hardwood mop (basically a big fabric-covered rectangle on a pole).
I wish our house didn’t have the trendy 2-steps-down layout; I’d love to get a robot cleaner for the main level of the house.
I decided to get this mop and it came two days ago. I really love the salad-spinner thingie at the top that centrifuges the water out of the mop. (I got the mop, too, 'cause I don’t do things halfway. Especially when it comes to shopping.) I’ve always hated manually squeezing out a string mop and never felt like my grip was strong enough to do a good job. Mopped the kitchen and bathroom quickly and easily!
The box is the perfect size for a cat hideout/garage/cave, too. Win-win!
