What judgments/assumptions do you make about someone who catches coronavirus these days?

I’m personally acquainted with two people who tested positive. It happened last fall, at a time when prevention was very well understood, and each had gathered in a social group with people outside their household without PPE.

Guess you don’t know many nurses? If you look through the “do you or anyone you know have covid” thread you’ll find a fair number who are on onboard with masks who got it.

Because we are getting SICK you inconsiderate bastard, we are risking ourselves so you can finally get that package of toilet paper you’re clutching like a frightened child with a teddy bear and whine about customer service. So pay for your stuff, STFU, wash your hands, wear your damn face mask properly , wash your hands, and keep your six foot distance or next week we might not have enough healthy staff to open the store at all!

Got tested on Wednesday. By that time I had what the tester described as a “wicked cough” and it was clear I either had covid or flu.

Test result on Sunday - yep, covid.

Now, I’m sure you’ll make an exception to your judging for front line workers. And maybe workers in the meatpacking biz. And maybe a few others. But the fact is many people still have to interact with others and no, unless it’s a properly fitted N95, we don’t all know masks dramatically reduce one’s odds of infection.
