What kind of a scam might this be?

I’ve been getting the FedEx shipment spam for a while – and also frequently getting “Eunice just sent you $3,182.00 USD with Paypal.” (Not always Eunice, the name is always different but the $3,182.00 is always the same.)

I haven’t opened any of them – marked them all as Junk, but they keep coming.
