I dunno… It can be pretty hard to fight an old geezer for his hat.
The style is called a cadet cap. If you poke around on ebay you can find similar hats, but my quick search didn’t yield any with buckles. It is an old style hunting hat, and has a style that is similar to mid-century German or Austrian hats. You might find something similar looking in places that carry European military surplus.
