What kind of insects are these

So I woke up this morning and went to have a shower and the light in the bathroom is full of insect beasties. Monstrous ones.

The light is a dome light on the ceiling of the bathroom. No obvious point on ingress and they don’t seem to be able to get out, either. Or, at least, their attempts to get out consist of wandering up the sides and sliding back down again. From this I discern that they are unable to fly, or walk on vertical surfaces, leaving their origins a mystery. Presumably either born their, in which case whence the parents?, or dropped in from the flat upstairs.

The creature are about an inch, maybe a bit more, in length and have a clearly insectoid body, with the usual insect characteristics, six legs, thorax and abdomen visibly separate, little insect style heads, and so on. They seem to be black.

Theories as to origin, type and potential disposal methods welcomed.

Saying they’re “insect looking” isn’t a good description. Beetles and ants are both insects but look very different. Pictures would help.

Little to go on here. But with description, I’ll take ‘the cockroach’ for 300 dollars, Alex.

Well I really can’t see them very well, certainly couldn’t get pictures. They’ve certainly got beetle-ish heads, based on my childhood recollections of beatles. Hard and angular and pincery. No visible antennae, not that I can see.

“Pincery” makes me thinkEarwig. If you thought of the pincery end as the head, it wouldn’t seem to have antennae.

Mop-top hairdos? Liverpool accents?

From the description, about all that can be said is “insects,” and even that isn’t certain. You’re going to have to provide more details, such as whether they have wings or not, how long their legs are, etc.
