What kind of musical bow is this? Is it for a violin, cello, viola or what?
I found this bow in a local thrift. It seems to be in perfect condition and is apparently strung with a material that looks like horsehair. It is 29 & 1/8 inches or 73.7 cm long. The horsehair section is 5 16ths of an inch or 8mm wide.
It could be almost anything. This page has a chart showing the average bow length for various stringed instruments. The 4/4 violin seems to most closely match your measurement.
Looks like a standard violin bow to me. The chart Q.E.D. confirms that it may well be one. As a violinist, the other bows always look shorter and chubbier to me.
