What kind of sunglasses are these?

Does anyone know what kind of sunglasses these are?

According to NPR, they are Oakley sunglasses. They did a profile on the gentleman in the picture. A profile that was criticized for lacking some needed context so perhaps the reporting might be interpreted with care.

They look like ballistics goggles rather than sunglasses. Look at the ridge around the lenses and the nose bridge. Something along the lines of these, though with darker lenses:

Ugly.

That sounds right. The guy in question (now missing, incidentally) was operating in a war zone.

I think they are Oakley brand but I was hoping someone might have a model number. Oakley makes many different kinds of sunglasses. I do not think they are the Wiley brand that someone posted becasue in another video he posted where he has them around his neck they do no have the Wiley logo on the strap.

They are WileyX SG-1s. PDF here: http://www.wileyx.com/tactical/spec_sheets/goggles/SG1_SS_LR.pdf#zoom=100

Where is the video you are referencing? I would like to see the video, but there are a few possibilities. It is an aftermarket strap, the goggles are simply generic knockoffs of SG-1s (very common thing in that part of the world), or he is wearing different goggles in that video, or you just couldn’t make out the logo for some other reason. WileyX has some subdues logos that do not stand out much. I did find a video of him wearing goggles with a Rec Spec strap. But those goggles appear to have a bronze tinted lens. So they are likely a different set of goggles. I’m sure he has several different pair.

I am still trying to find the video you asked about. Can you post the video or picture of him wearing the Rec Spec sunglasses?

Can you post a picture of him wearing the glasses where the strap is visible but has no logo?
