What limits Trump...according to Trump

President Donald Trump reportedly told The New York Times that his “own morality” serves as the thing that could potentially limit his global powers – adding that he doesn’t “need international law.”
Trump says his ‘own morality’ is limit to his global power - ABC News. also, when asked if he would follow international law, he responded “It depends what your definition of international law is.”
Well golly-That reassures me all to hell! How about you?

Are you surprised by his answer? Does he seem accountable to anyone other than himself?

I’m mostly surprised by the honesty of the answer. I guess he feels he’s beyond the need for misdirection or minimization.

The House Managers of Trump’s first impeachment dropped the ball on a variety of things. One of those was the defense team’s argument that the president was a Law & Order President who was pressuring Ukraine in order to fight corruption.

He was on the record as someone who opposed the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, had already pardoned a wide variety of criminal activity, had already rejected the Emoluments Clause, had already been shot down by the Supreme Court for First Amendment violations, etc. None of that was mentioned and the whole defense argument - despite being known in advance - was allowed to slide by unchallenged.

I expect the media, Democrats, and Republicans ability to recall that the President is outright admitting to not caring about the law and not working as a Law & Order President for about 5 minutes and then go right back to reporting that he’s fighting drugs and preserving the peace…

What should limit trump is the Congress. That’s their job as coequal branch, aiui. Instead, we have Cabinet meeting level of ass kissery. I honestly don’t understand how they can prop up a guy who is in it purely for the money and doesn’t gaf about them without being embarrassed.
