What makes people pay $90 for a balcony side wall seat to "La Cenerentola" - Rossini?

It’s Cinderella told with all the charm of the 1820’s (Think John Quincy Adams).

Simple and crude book, music that wouldn’t be remembered on the way home, much less the next day, and singing that has no drama, no high notes, no tricky interplay.

I’ve seen more entertaining highschool productions of … Well just about anything musical.

So, I guess they have to fill up the season, and they did Figaro in the fall.

But can’t they at least cut the price to reflect that it’s not grand opera?

Or do you pay that gladly?
