My biggest annoyance is probably people who seem to have a direct line from brain to mouth with no stops - that is, every little thought that goes through their head has to be said out loud. These people just can’t stand to be alone with their thoughts. I despise them and have a great deal of contempt for them. I enjoy my own thoughts and am a quiet person and these people always say “MIKA WHY ARE YOU SO QUIET TODAY ARE YOU SAD HA HA HA.” Right before I hack them to death with a fire axe.
Wait, I only do the last part alone in my thoughts.

I agree with the others above who state that oblivious people are often annoying. People who’s self-awareness seems so limited that cannot conceptualize how their behavior might be affecting other people aren’t ALWAYS annoying, but annoying people (for me) tend to be more oblivious.
This can include the loud talkers, the obnoxious joke-tellers (especially when literally no one else is laughing, and they keep telling jokes), the people who stop in the middle of the hall/aisle/sidewalk and block the way, people who start conversations when you’re busy and then cannot read social signals to end the conversation…most of the things that people post about in mini-rants (or grown-up rants, even) have to do with some level of obliviousness.
And I disagree that quiet, introverted people can’t be annoying. I used to have a friend who would get mad when our group got together socially and she didn’t get invited (not that we were excluding her, but perhaps it was a gathering of part of the group to engage in a shared activity that we all enjoyed and she didn’t). The problem was that whenever she did get invited to a social activity - party, dinner, anything - she literally would not say a word. Would not interact with anyone at all. She put it off to shyness and introversion, but it was almost like she used it aggressively - sort of a “look at me not talking to you or anyone and looking uncomfortable.”

I don’t mind explaining something more than once, but you gotta get it before I start staring at you like you’re an idiot.[/li][li]Pushy people in line, especially cutters. Let me give you an example. A short while back I was at the airport in one of those situations where bad weather messed up all the flights. I went to the line to get re-ticketed. Wow, there was at least 100 people in line! We all stood in line, traded our travel stories, and slowly moved towards the front. When I finally got near the front after more than an hour in line, some lady went straight to the front of the line, asked the first person in line if it was OK to cut in front of him because she had a very trivial problem to take care of. The guy apparently said yes. Well, the rest of us in line booed her mercilessly and screamed for her to go to the end of the line. She refused and went up to the counter. To the ticket agent’s credit he refused to serve her and sent her packing. You should’ve heard the cheers from the crowd. She just acted indignant that she couldn’t just cut in line like that. Now she was annoying.[/li][/ul]
I know this going to sound wrong, but some people just have annoying faces. Like there’s been some people I’ve seen and thought I would never like to deal with him/her again. It’s not that they’re ugly, they’re just odd looking in some way. That or people who make strange faces. I know it can’t be helped, but still.
Behaviors to me are just people who are too extreme. People who take things too seriously annoy me. Annoying people tend to be socially retarded. They don’t know how to carry on in groups.
My personal pet peeve (this goes with the social retard trait) is people who have no control of the volume of their voice or whistle a lot. Do both and I’ll rip your head off.

To take it one step further, being told they’re being oblivious to their behaviors that set people on edge, and their being so un-self aware that they have no idea what you’re talking about.

I find it annoying when I’m having a conversation with someone and he/she interrupts or talks over me. This is something I started to realized about a newer acquaintance of mine the second or third time I hung out with her. She monopolizes the entire conversation and never pauses or shuts up long enough to let me get a word in edgewise. I can’t hang out with her one-on-one because of it. And she has a tendency to delve into “TMI” with stories about her sex life or her marital problems.
And tangentially related to that are people who tell the same stories over and over. Another acquaintence of mine is awful about that. And even if you interject and say, “Oh yeah, I remember when you told me about that,” she will continue to tell it like it was the first time, including an endless amount of mundane details. It is incredibly annoying. And just add alcohol to either of these women and it makes these annoyances exponentially worse.
As a result of knowing these two, I find myself trying to be more considerate of others when I get a tendency to go on and on. I never want to annoy anyone like that.
People who marinate in their perfume/cologne.
People who voice their political opinions in places where they don’t belong. (work, church etc) And then they just assume since you are an acquaintance, that you agree. This goes for right, left, libertarian - it doesn’t matter.
I have had people post flyers for religious concerts etc in common areas, but if someone from say a “non acceptable” religion like Wicca would post anything there they would be up in arms.
