What members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have you seen live?

And did you see them before or after induction?

List here (including 2014)

For me (* indicates after they were inducted; **indicates I’m unsure):

Ray Charles**
The Beach Boys
Wilson Pickett
Elton John*
Allman Brothers Band
Jefferson Airplane
The Mamas and the Papas**
Billy Joel*
Bruce Springsteen
Jackson Browne
Buddy Guy
Dr. John

And in the non-performer category, I met Jerry Wexler

Just three, AC/DC, Aerosmith and KISS. I’m not sure if I saw Aerosmith before or after their induction. The others were definitely before.

Steely Dan - before
Metallica - before
Rush - before
Billy Joel - after
George Clinton (Not sure if any other inducted members of P-Funk were at the show I was at) - after
Possible future inductees: Pearl Jam, NIN, Beck, Devo, Chicago, Yes, Moody Blues, Dave Matthews, Brian Setzer?

1 - The Eagles.

I’ve actually been to more operas than rock concerts. Not that I’m a snob or anything, just really loud music and crowds aren’t my thing. The Eagles concert was when I was 42.

Though I really wanted to go see U2 when they had their Joshua Tree tour.

Ye gods. Quite a few:

B.B. King
Beach Boys
Rolling Stones
Kinks
Eric Burdon (w/o the Animals)
Grateful Dead
Elton John

Fleetwood Mac
Santana
Bruce Springsteen
Eric Clapton
Jimmy Page (w/o Zep)
Jeff Beck
Bonnie Raitt
James Taylor
Paul Simon
Jackson Browne
Heart
Randy Newman
Rush
Linda Ronstadt

Not all of those were as individual artist concerts. For example, I saw Newman, Browne and Ronstadt as part of a Steve Goodman tribute concert. Clapton, Page and Beck were all featured in the ARMS Benefit concerts. Although I later caught Ronstadt solo.

I’ve seen Neil Young, Santana, Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac both before and after induction.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (8 years after induction)

That is all.

Forgot to mention Pink Floyd.

Bob Dylan *
Rolling Stones
Kinks
The Who
Van Morrison*
Grateful Dead
Frank Zappa
David Bowie
Pink Floyd
Joni Mitchell*
Elvis Costello & the Attractions
Genesis
Tom Waits
Donovan
Peter Gabriel

*after induction

Does Booker T. count if I saw him without the MGs?

Wow! I thought my list would be embarrassingly small, but it turns out I’ve seen more Hall Of Fame inductees that I thought.

Billy Joel - After
The Pretenders - Around that year
Blondie - After
KISS - Way, way before

Johnny Cash (as a member of The Highwaymen, but I went to the concert almost entirely to see Cash)
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

Saw both of them after induction.

Hmm. All before induction except as noted.

The Coasters (after, and I’m pretty sure there were no original members when I saw them, so not really)
Bob Dylan
Simon & Garfunkel
Grateful Dead
Neil Young (a few years after)
Frank Zappa
P-Funk (they were billed as the P-Funk All Stars, but it was the same band[s])

Elvis Costello
Stewart Copeland (I think, when he was in Curved Air)
Glen Matlock (when he was in The Rich Kids)
Leonard Cohen
The Faces

Some of you are including people who were never inducted individually, but as members of a band. I don’t think that’s appropriate.

Rush - before

Bob Dylan
Rolling Stones
The Kinks
Grateful Dead
Frank Zappa
David Bowie
Jackson Browne
Patti Smith
Lynyrd Skynyrd

More than I thought there would be, and I’ve seen a few other people who were in Inducted groups - Jack Bruce, John Sebastian, the current Jefferson line-up…

Oh, and I have seen Hot Tuna, which included Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen, who are Hall of Famers for being in Jefferson Airplane.
