What movie prop do you accidentally own?

This one is kind of obscure. In the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind when the aliens arrived outside Barry’s house and his toys started turning themselves on, he had a record player that turned on and was playing the song “So look with care for the shape of a square…”. I had that same vinyl album as a kid.

There is the same conflict with antique camera collectors.

Not remotely obscure, for someone familiar with the movie.

One I have (technically it’s in my parents attic in the UK) is the SGI Crimson workstation from the “I know Unix” scene in Jurassic Park, from when I worked at Silicon Graphics UK in the early 2000s.

We’ve seen our salt and pepper mills used as medical auto-injectors on a few shows, including Dark Matter.

We’ve paused movies to see which watch the actor is wearing. Once in a while, it’ll match one of the ones my husband wears.

There’s even an ad/movie:

I don’t own one but I‘ve used them plenty before: the smart gun body harnesses the Colonial Marines don in Aliens is literally just a Steadicam rig.

Also, this “rocket launcher” used at the end of xXx is clearly just a digital camcorder the same style we all owned at the time (this looks like a Sony based on the eyepiece), painted green and had something draped over the top.

I have such a replica, but it was made from a replica Mauser, not an original, at least.

Thought of two more. An episode of Andromeda featured a planter of Satracenia leucophillia (which I have grown before) as a very rare and very valuable oxygen generating plant. And an episode of Andor briefly showed a plate of Moroccan orthoceras fossils, which are one of the most likely fossils you are likely to find anywhere that anyone sells fossils.
