They’ll still be doing Frankenstein’s monster movies. But in 2100, it will be a documentary.

It is a fad.
Batman first hit the big screen 74 years ago. That’s a character with staying power.
Thing is, you can’t really call it a “Movie Series,” as there have been a number of different series with different takes on the character. But I have a feeling we’ll still be seeing Batman in some form or another for at least another 74 years.
Heck, before the first Batman movie, they did one where a costumed do-gooder with a black cape and black mask used the cave under his stately manor as a hidden base of operations – you know, when he wasn’t pretending to be an ‘idle rich’ fop, with his faithful butler helping the big guy sell that secret-identity act so our hero would have an easier time using his skills and weapons to battle injustice as Zorro.
I’m tempted to say none of them. At some point, younger moviegoers will see superhero films as something their parents watched, and they’d rather see vampire movies (or whatever).
The fact that superhero movies all have the same plot will kill their chances of longevity. There’s only so many times you can save the world.
