Just got back from The Da Vinci Code, looking to shoot the shit here, but cant seem to find a thread… Close this if I’m doubling up. What did you think? me, I thought for a thriller, it wasnt very thrilling. For a lead actor, Tom Hanks didnt do any leading. For a supporting actor, Ian McKellan stole the show. But that is probably because his character is so eccentric that he pulls you out of the boredom. Hanks or Neauveau never solve anything… they follow clues from a to b, then get the whole thing handed to them on a plate, in one of the clunkiest expositional scenes I’ve ever seen. Its just twenty minutes of exposition. Personnaly, I didnt like the book, having read it after Angels and Demons. A&D was a rollercoaster, taking place in one night, in one setting. Theres a real sense of urgency. With the DVC, I felt it would have been a lot better if the whole thing had taken place in paris (And theres no reason why it shouldnt, with a bit of plot twiddling they would never have had to go to London, and certainly not to Scotland). When Teabing takes them to London, there was no urgency… they had Silas tied up, shit, they could have booked into a hotel, got cleaned up, maybe have a bite to eat before they resumed their quest. Take out Silas, take out whatever threat you have. Overall, I was pretty bored throughout, not helped by the most intrusive and maudlin score I’ve heard in a long while. What did the rest of you think?

I’ll ask a moderator to merge your comments into this thread.

Actually, mobo85, I’m just going to close this one, since there IS a Da Vinci Code thread. Thanks for providing the link and reporting this.

bubastis, if you want to repost you comments in that thread, that’s fine. Anyone else who wants to read or post, please to go the other thread.
