What one hit wonders should I put on my MP3 player?

You might also like *In the Court of the Crimson King * by King Crimson. I’m not really sure if the group should properly be considered a one hit wonder, though.

They’re not a one-hit wonder. Off the top of my head, there’s “Graduate,” “How’s It Going to Be,” “Jumper,” and “Never Let You Go.”

My vote goes to Tommy Tutone’s “Jenny.”

I always like suggesting “That Thing You Do” by The Wonders. Pretty much the definition of a one-hit wonder.

Shit, half the groups on this list aren’t one-hit wonders. And the other half I’ve never heard of.

All these posts on “one-hit wonders” and no one’s rickrolled yet?

“Missing” - Everything But The Girl
“Jane’s Getting Serious” - Jon Astley
“Tarzan Boy” - Baltimora
“Breakout” - Swing Out Sister
“Bette Davis Eyes” - Kim Carnes
“Oblivious” - Aztec Camera (which, if you find, tell me where because I can’t)
“Dead Man’s Party” - Oingo Boingo (technically not a OHW)
“In a Big Country” - Big Country
“Kids in America” - Kim Wilde
“All Around the World” - Lisa Stansfield

Oh hell, I’ll just send you my iPod to copy. Easier to do that than type them all out here.

VH1’s 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders

Personally, I’d skip 7, 6, and 1.

This is a pity he’s one of your one hit wonders as Josh Ritter has had several excellent albums and numerous great songs.
Check out the songs:
Wolves,
Golden Age Of Radio,
Monster Ballads (especially the demo version on one of the EPs),
Kathleen,
Still,
Wait For Love,
Otherside,
Come and Find Me,

to name just a very few.

Thanks for the suggestions! A friend gave me “Girl in the War” on a mix CD and I never bothered to check him out further.

I just listened to it. That song is so quiet, so endearing, so oddly psychotic, it goes brilliantly with “Kisses”.

Damn. I guess that makes them two-hit wonders in my book.

“Breakfast at Tiffany’s”
“500 Miles”
