Wikipedia’s article on cellulose says that cotton is roughly 90% cellulose, and that wood is about 50%.

If you eat chitin (like an unpeeled shrimp, or grasshoppers, or mushrooms, etc.) is it indigestible like cellulose? And if so, does it perform the same function, acting as roughage?
Found the answer to my second question… it is indigestible (to humans anyway) and is considered roughage.
