I’m nearly done Christmas shopping and probably 99% of what I got was done online. I will buy my Mom and one other person some scratch offs and I will likely get some emergency gifts in the form of a few bottles of wine.
Anyway, almost all of it was done online. What about you?
I will only buy stocking stuffers and my dad’s annual bottle of scotch in real stores. Everything else gets ordered. This is pretty much reflective of the rest of the year, too.
99%. I haven’t done any of it yet, I’m waiting for the usual deals that pop up for the “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” Most of my gifts are clothes and DVDs, so waiting for sales is usually a good idea.
The only brick and mortar shopping I do is for Secret Santa crap or any Christmas parties I have to go to.
As much as possible. I hate shopping in person; online is cheaper, faster, and things show up on my doorstep. Why would I do brick & mortar if I have the Interwebs?
Ugh. I’m really not looking forward to Christmas shopping this year, because I can’t do 100% of my shopping online. It’s more like 0%. There’s not really a whole lot of consumer e-commerce in Mexico yet.
I buy books and DVDs online (the things I’m looking for are kind of obscure and hence are NEVER found in a store). Some clothes and jewelry, too, online. Online: 40%.
I’ll bundle up and battle the crowds for liquor, stocking stuffers, gift wrap, food items (usually gift-y things easily picked up at Wegmans grocery store), and gift cards. That can be done in one afternoon if I plan it all out… My elderly mother loves clothes from Macy’s, so I just pick up a nightgown, robe, and slippers (slippers are VERY important, apparently, the older you get) and keep the receipt, since we’ll end up returning them for something more suitable . Brick n’ mortar: 60%.
Hard to say, but the majority will be brick and mortar. Sometimes if I can get a better deal or can’t locate it in stores I’ll order online but I tend not to unless it’s books/DVDs or non-clothes items which is my usual habits since I can’t feel clothes up and check the sizing.
100% online. No lines, no crowds, no traffic, no headaches. Many vendors will even wrap it for you. The extra $ for shipping is a bargain compared to the savings in time and effort.
I think I’m going to do a higher percentage online this year - maybe as much as 40%, up from 0-2%.
I’m really looking forward to shopping on etsy this year - loads of beautiful, handmade stuff, which will be great, instead of the standard crap for sale.
I love going out on black Friday morning and normally do my big purchases then. Then I’ll fill in my small presents online. Cost wise that is, number of items online will blow B&M away.
What little shopping I have to do this year will likely be done online. My lack of enthusiasm for Christmas music is pretty legendary, so it’s best for everyone if I just stay home and avoid the malls and big-box stores.
