What performers (movie, TV, sports) are forever ruined for you by their later actions?

One album, Dragontown, went a bit into the Bad Kind of Christian direction, which was a letdown, as it was a followup to Brutal Planet, which definitely didn’t. [Edit - to be clear, Brutal Planet was definitely informed by his faith, but it never went in the bad direction with it, like Dragontown did.] Specifically, of the top of my head, it consigned the Family of Bones (the victims of random violence in Pick Up the Bones from Brutal Planet) to Hell. But he’s gone back to the good old Alice in his more recent albums, so… Dragontown was anomalous, and perhaps a tonal misfire.

I always thought Adams’ trolling was master-level and quite amusing, even tho I’m a hardcore lib. What killed it for me was when he abandoned his written blog in favor of doing videos. His smug countenance rubs just me the wrong way. That, and I hate vblogs in general because I can read much faster than anybody can talk, which is another rant for another time.

I envy you. I guess I look at as “I need to get better at separating the actor from the character”. MAYBE I can get to the point where I’m not thinking about weirdo Scientologist Tom Cruise up there on the screen, but I’m just enjoying watching Jack Reacher…

I’d better get good at that. I’m not going to stop chuckling at Dilbert just because his creator is in another cult (Right-Wing Wackiness).

You’re single, aren’t you?

Glen Campbell quit playing golf back in August 08, 2017.

I won’t give up things I really enjoy - a good example is The Ref , which is my favorite Christmas movie. Yes, it has Kevin Spacey the creep in it but it also has two people (Denis Leary and especially Judy Davis) that don’t deserve to have a good movie boycotted just because one of the stars is a perv. I mean- it’s still hilarious… maybe I’ll go to hell for that but I don’t think its fair to everyone else on a project to discard it for the actions of one person.

Orson Scott Card. I always knew he was LDS, but I try hard not to discriminate against people because of the religion they belong to, so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and not assume he was a regressive person just because of his religion.

But he’s associated himself with vile beliefs, particularly being very anti-gay, and I have no desire to contribute to his success while he actively denies certain people’s human rights.
