I don’t have a picture, but a very interesting plant near our pond has suddenly died and I wish to replace it. In the spring it has bright yellow flowers reminiscent of Forsythia but with a much more interesting, slightly weeping branch pattern, and much smaller leaves. Also, unlike Forsythia, it has only one trunk which splits into brances within about 8 inches of the ground.
Jasminum nudiflora, winter jasmine looks a lot like forsythia. Unfortunately, I can’t find a good enough picture for you.
The only other thing I can think of would be witch hazel. It has yellow flowers but it doen’t weep, and it grows much taller.
Like Bewildebeest said, Jasminum nudiflorum?
Yes, I think that is it. Thank you very much.
